LOUISVILLE, KY – Lukewarm favorites at 8/1 on the morning line, Essential Quality and Life Is Good top the individual betting interests for Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) Pool 3. As is often the case, “All Other 3-Year-Olds” remains the true morning line leader, at 9/5.
Wagering for KDFW Pool 3 opens February 12 at 12:00 PM and closes February 14 at 6:00 PM (both times Eastern). Fans without racetrack or simulcast center access can legally wager online through ADWs such as NYRA Bets and TVG.
The KDFW features $2 Win and Exacta wagering on possible entrants in the Kentucky Derby (G1), America’s greatest race and the first leg of the Triple Crown. The 2021 edition is scheduled for Saturday, May 1.

There are no refunds in the KDFW. Should Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week’s three-day pool that one of the wagering interests has experienced an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.

Dates for the remaining 2021 KDFW pools are March 5-7 (Pool 4) and March 26- 28 (Pool 5). The lone Kentucky Oaks (G1) Future Wager will coincide with Pool 4 of the KDFW.
