The 2026 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity is set for Saturday, October 3 at Keeneland, bringing together a talented field of 2-year-olds in one of the most important races of the fall.
The Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity will be contested at 1 1/16 miles on the dirt for a purse of $650,000. The race is also part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series, with the winner earning a guaranteed spot in the starting gate for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Keeneland.
The Breeders’ Futurity is also an important early stop on the Road to the 2027 Kentucky Derby, with points awarded to the top five finishers.
