This will be our last set of predictions before our official Breeders Cup Preview next week. I’ve made two changes this week.
Classic: Game On Dude – It’s been a broken record over the last seven weeks. Game On Dude is the pick in this one, and he might be the best bet of the whole Breeders Cup
Ladies Classic: Questing – I’ve flipped flopped more than a politician in this race, but I’m back on Questing once again. Her running style suits Santa Anita, and I think she’ll rebound off a dull effort last time out.
Mile: Wise Dan – It’s going to be the Mile for Wise Dan, and I’m happy about this choice. Tough Euro’s could be coming in to challenge though.
Turf: Optimizer – Sticking by my boy once again.
Juvenile: Power Broker – Home track advantage, and possibly the best horse in the group going two turns.
Dirt Mile: Shackleford – The “Shack Man” is still my pick this week, but I’m not sold on him.
Turf Sprint: Bridgetown – Sticking by this guys side for now.
Sprint: Coil – Baffert is loaded for this race, but Coil is the best of the bunch. Since returning in 2012 he’s been a brilliant sprinter.
Filly and Mare Sprint: Groupie Doll – I guess I’ll conform to everyone else in this one. It’s Tricky has been injured and retired, so Groupie Doll is the pick now.
Juvenile Turf: Noble Tune – Chad Brown has a shot to sweep the two-year old turf races, and like Baffert in the sprint he’ll have multiple entires in this race.
Filly and Mare Turf: Siyouma – If she comes, I’ll back her. Impressive performance at Woodbine last time out.
Juvenile Filly: Executiveprivilege – The competition is going to be really stiff, but I just can’t pick against Executiveprivilege
Juvenile Filly Turf: Watsdachances – Chad Brown is loaded with 2-year-old turfers…can’t go against him.
Marathon: Commander – Weak group of horses pointing towards this one, why not take a chance with a hot horse?
Juvenile Sprint: Beholder – I’m worried she might enter the Juvenile Filly, but if she ends up here, good luck to the rest of the field.
