Race Recaps Stallwalkin’ Dude Rallies Home First In G3 Fall Highweight November 23, 2017 Race Recaps Stallwalkin’ Dude Rallies Home First In G3 Fall Highweight November 23, 2017 By: Curtis "Magic" Kalleward twitteremail Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article OZONE PARK, NY – Owner/trainer David Jacobson’s Stallwalkin’ Dude overcame a bumpy start to win Thursday’s Grade 3, $200,000 Fall Highweight Handicap at Aqueduct. Immediately after breaking from post 3 under Joel Rosario, Stallwalkin’ Dude was bumped by inward-breaking Threefiveindia and Green Gratto before settling at the rear. Green Gratto set initial splits of :22.21 and :45.84 while Stallwalkin’ Dude waited to make his move through the far turn. Hitting the top of the stretch five-wide, Stallwalkin’ Dude took off under light urging, took command with 1/16 of a mile to go, and inched away to win by 1 3/4 lengths in a final time of 1:11.11 for the 6-furlong main track event. “He broke really well and I just left him where he was happy and he was happy back there,” Rosario said. “It looked like they got away a little from me, but that’s kind of his style. He looks like he wants to be relaxed and then make a run.” Threefiveindia intially looked to take the lead in the stretch drive before getting caught by the winner and holding off Life in Shambles by a neck at the line for second. Ready for Rye was a head past Great Stuff for fourth, with Green Gratto and Hey Jabber Jaw completing the order of finish. Schivarelli and Seymourdini were scratched. A top 100-ranked horse in earnings for each of 2015, 2016, and 2017, Stallwalkin’ Dude increased his career winnings to $1,688,852, including $500,500 for 2017. The 7-year-old gelded son of City Place now has a career record 59-20-9-9 for Jacobson, who co-owns with Head of Plains Partners LLC. “As far as I am concerned, he is as good, if not better than he has ever been,” Jacobson said. “His last three races were some of his premier performances.” Stallwalkin’ Dude returned $4.20 to win, $2.80 to place, and $2.10 to show. Threefiveindia brought back $3.40 to place and $2.60 to show, while Life in Shambles paid $2.80 to show.
