News Champion Tepin Tops Field of 10 for G1 Coolmore Jenny Wiley April 13, 2016 News Champion Tepin Tops Field of 10 for G1 Coolmore Jenny Wiley April 13, 2016 By: Jared Welch twitterfacebooklinkedinemail Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article LEXINGTON, KY (April 13, 2016) – Robert Masterson’s Tepin, the 2015 Eclipse Award winner as champion turf female, headlines a field of 10 fillies and mares entered Wednesday for Saturday’s 28th running of the $350,000 Coolmore Jenny Wiley (G1) at Keeneland. The Coolmore Jenny Wiley, run at 1 1/16 miles on the turf, will go as the 10th race on Saturday’s 11-race program with a 5:32 p.m. ET post time. First post time Saturday is 12:35 p.m. The other stakes that day are the $200,000 Ben Ali (G3), $150,000 Lexington (G3) and $100,000 Giant’s Causeway (L). Trained by Mark Casse, Tepin is two narrow runner-up finishes away from a nine-race win streak. As it is, the 5-year-old daughter of Bernstein has won her past four races in a streak that started here last fall. Tepin won the First Lady (G1) by seven lengths during Keeneland’s 2015 Fall Meet and came back four weeks later to handle males in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1), winning by 2¼ lengths. She is undefeated in two races this year with victories in the Lambholm South Endeavor (G3) and Hillsborough (G2) at Tampa Bay Downs. Regular rider Julien Leparoux will be aboard Tepin in the Coolmore Jenny Wiley. They will break from post position eight and carry top weight of 123 pounds. Also in the field is the last horse to beat Tepin: Dacita (CHI). Owned by Sheep Pond Partners and Bradley Thoroughbreds, Dacita finished a head in front of Tepin in the Ketel One Ballston Spa (G2) at Saratoga last August. Dacita, trained by Chad Brown, finished ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1) here last fall and in her 2016 debut was second in The Very One (G3) at Gulfstream Park on March 5. Javier Castellano has the mount and will break from post position three. Brown has one other entrant in the race in Martin Schwartz’s Wekeela (FR). A Group 3 winner in France last year, Wekeela will make her U.S. debut Saturday. Gary Stevens has the mount and will leave post position six. The field for the Coolmore Jenny Wiley, with riders and weights from the inside, is: Miss Temple City (Drayden Van Dyke, 118 pounds), Akatea (IRE) (Jose Lezcano, 118), Dacita (CHI) (Javier Castellano, 118), Recepta (Florent Geroux, 118), Itsonlyactingdad (Luis Saez, 118), Wekeela (FR) (Stevens, 118), Illuminant (Flavian Prat, 118), Tepin (Leparoux, 123),She’s Not Here (Robby Albarado, 118) and Tiger Ride (Edgar Prado, 118). Miss Temple City also was entered in Friday’s Maker’s 46 Mile (G1) against males. Keeneland
