Free NHL Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays for 3/25/22

Hockey continues to be a sore spot for most bettors as the upsets continue. Last night wasn’t a disaster for us but it continues to be very frustrating

A good example of how difficult betting hockey can be, happened in the game between Dallas and Carolina last night. The Hurricanes outshot the Stars 47-15 yet lost the game 4-3 in a shootout because Dallas goalie, Scott Wedgewood was simply outstanding. So, we lost our Best Bet, and that lowered our Best Bet of the Day record to 22-17 since the All-Star Break.

We did hit the Upset Special, capitalizing on our hunch that Vegas would be desperate, and could come up with a great effort to beat the Predators. At least, we are doing well picking some upsets.

We went 6-4 betting the MoneyLine, which was ok, because the Vegas upset made us a profit. Our overall record is 151-99 since the All-Star break.

There are 5 games on the schedule tonight, plus the NCAA College Basketball Sweet Sixteen as a distraction. But, I’m determined to turn my full attention to hockey and have a good night of betting.

*PAPA DUDES BEST BET OF THE DAY* Pittsburgh at New York Rangers: This is the best game of the night as the Penguins skate into New York. Pittsburgh has won 5 out of 7, but they are coming off a loss in Buffalo in their last game. They are a very consistent team and are a definite Stanley Cup contender. Meanwhile, the Rangers won 2 very impressive games on the road against Tampa and Carolina, before suffering a letdown and losing to the Devils. This is a classic matchup between two very similar teams battling for playoff position in the Metropolitan division. The Rangers are slight underdogs at home and I think they are going to win this one. PAPA DUDES BEST BET: Bet the MoneyLine on the Rangers +100

*PAPA DUDES UPSET SPECIAL* Washington at Buffalo: Just playing a hunch on the Capitals taking an improving Buffalo game for granted, and overlooking them, like Pittsburgh did a couple of nights ago. The Sabres have won three in a row over very good teams, and are quietly playing as well as anyone in the league at the moment. I think it is worth a shot to lay some bucks on Buffalo.
