- #1 ARKANSAS: The Hogs knocked off Florida in Gainesville and Kentucky at home to lay claim as the best team in the SEC.
- #2 PROVIDENCE: The Friars won two more games and their win over Xavier was one of the best games of the season.
- #3 BAYLOR: The Bears got two big wins including one over Kansas.
- #4 TENNESSEE: The Vols have righted the ship.
- #5 SETON HALL: The Pirates have won 3 in a row and are close to nailing down a tournament bid.
- TOP 5 LOSERS OF THE WEEK:
- #1 RUTGERS: They couldn’t sustain their great run.
- #2 VIRGINIA: The Cavaliers have played their way out of the tournament.
- #3 AUBURN AND BRUCE PEARL: No way they should be losing the games that they do.
- #4 XAVIER: It pains me to put them on this list after their valiant effort against Providence, but their home loss to Seton Hall was a killer.
- #5 OHIO STATE: Just when they got a big win at Illinois to get people believing, they turn around at lose at lowly Maryland by 15.
