Free NCAA College Basketball Picks, Best Bets, and Parlays For 2/28/22

We head into the last day of February, as the regular season is winding down, and conference tournaments are beginning for some leagues. It was a weekend of craziness as seven Top-10 teams lost on Saturday including #1,2,3,4,5,and 6. There is so much parity, and March Madness is going to be impossible to pick, and there are a bunch of teams that can win it all. It is what college basketball is all about. Aren’t you glad we are along for the ride?

Yesterday, we cashed our Best Bet as Temple beat Tulane to cover a 2.5-point spread, winning 75-70. That raised our Best Bet of the Day record to 43-27.

We had a good day betting the MoneyLine and ended up going 6-1. Our record now stands at 543-120 (82%) for 2022.

There were four games involving Top-25 teams and the upsets continued on Sunday. We went 2-2 picking straight up winners and only 1-3 betting the spread and that lowered the record to 78-64 betting the spread on Top-25 teams.

There are 4 games tonight involving Top-25 teams, and a scattering of others on a light Monday night schedule. All of the Top-25 games are as tough as can be. Let’s see what we can make some money on.

Papa Dudes Best Bet for College Basketball Today

San Diego State 18-7 (-1.5) at Wyoming 23-5 : The Mountain West is the best conference no one ever hears about and this game features two of their best teams. The Aztecs are a great defensive team that can play with anyone and is tough to beat. They need this win to give the playoff committee further reason to include them in the NCAA tournament. Meanwhile, Wyoming with 23 wins seems like a lock, and any quality win they can get further increases their chances. The Cowboys are 13-0 at home and I like that stat. This should be a classic. PAPA DUDES BEST BET: Wyoming +1.5

GAMES INVOLVING TOP-25 TEAMS:

Northwestern 13-14 at Iowa 20-8 (-10): This game is somewhat bettable. Iowa is on a roll, they are at home, and Northwestern is running out of gas, after a long season of being outmanned in the difficult Big-10 conference. The spread is reasonable and I think Iowa covers at home. PAPA DUDES PICK: Iowa -10

Kansas State 14-14 at #9 Texas Tech 22-7 (-12.5): On paper, this should be an easy win for the Red Raiders and it might be. Both teams are coming off Saturday losses, K-State losing a heartbreaker to Iowa State at home, and Tech was upset at TCU. The Wildcats are going nowhere and trying to finish with a winning season while Tech has clinched a NCAA tournament bid. Will the Wildcats come into Lubbock and play with the same tenacity and intensity that they usually do, or is it too tough a turnaround from the crushing loss from Saturday? No way to tell, so I’m not betting this one. PAPA DUDES PICK: K-State +12.5

#10 Baylor 24-5 (-1) at #20 Texas 21-8: This is a pick-em type game between these two good teams. Baylor is coming off an emotional win over Kansas on Saturday, and if they were playing anyone but Texas, they might come out flat. Doubt if that will be the case in Austin. Texas eked out a win at West Virginia and will be ready for the Bears. This is a great end of the regular season game in the Big-12 and you can make a case for either team. I think Baylor is better and if they have some gas left in the tank from Saturday they get a huge win, plus I hate Texas. PAPA DUDES PICK: Baylor -1

#12 UCLA 21-6 (-10.5) at Washington 14-13: UCLA is playing their third straight road game, as this game was postponed from early in the season, because of Covid. They lost at Oregon on Thursday, but bounced back with a lopsided win at Oregon State on Saturday. Washington played back-to-back games against archrival Washington State and split the two games during that same time period. It’s all about the spread and can UCLA cover. Tough call and as usual the spread is not comfortable to bet either way. I’m staying away from this one too. PAPA DUDES PICK: Washington +10.5
