NFL Reviewing the NFC and Setting Up the NFC First Round of the Playoffs January 11, 2022 PackersNews NFL Reviewing the NFC and Setting Up the NFC First Round of the Playoffs January 11, 2022 By: Mike Halterman email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article No.1 GREEN BAY 13-4: The Packers are the No.1 seed and will have a first round bye and will wait to see who gets to come to Green Bay in Round 2. No.2 TAMPA BAY 13-4: They finished as the No.2 seed and will begin their Super Bowl defense against the Philadelphia Eagles. They need to get some injured players back if they are going to get back to the Super Bowl, but, oh yeah, they have Tom Brady. No.3 DALLAS 12-5: The Cowboys played their starters and beat the Eagles and moved up to the No.3 seed. Their first round game is against the dangerous 49ers. No.4 LA RAMS 12-5: The Rams have to be disappointed, after their loss to San Francisco dropped them down to the No.4 seed. They will play the Cardinals next week. No.5 ARIZONA 11-6: This is a frustrating franchise that blew a golden opportunity to win the division. Instead, they lost to a mediocre Seattle team where they allowed a poor Seahawks’ offense to score 38 points . This was their 5th straight loss on their home field. They go to Los Angeles for their first round game and that’s probably a good thing since they play so much better on the road. No.6 SAN FRANCISCO 10-7: The Niners showed what they are made of, rallying from an early 17-0 deficit, and outlasting the Rams in overtime, to lock up a playoff spot. This is a dangerous 6th seed outfit, and they could pull off an upset in Dallas. No.7 PHILADELPHIA 9-8: The Eagles have had a remarkable season and they nose out the Saints because of the tiebreaker. Their ability to run the ball will give them a chance in Tampa. No.8 NEW ORLEANS 9-8: The Saints barely missed out on a playoff spot and deserve mention for the resiliency they displayed in a difficult season filled with injuries and COVID problems.
