Free Pick: Arkansas (7-3) at Alabama (9-1) 11/20/21

Can the Razorbacks continue their good play of late, and make a game of it in Tuscaloosa? This isn’t a great Alabama team, but I would venture a guess that no one in the country would want to play them. The Crimson Tide is in the same position as always; they need to win to go into the SEC championship game with a playoff spot on the line. Let’s see what the betting angles are.

TOTAL TEAM POINTS:

Arkansas: 17.5 Total Team Points The Razorbacks run the ball as well as anyone in the SEC and are averaging 234 yards rushing per game. They can throw it better than a lot of people think, and that will be a big key, if they are going to have a chance to win this game. The Bama defense has been excellent against the run allowing only 84 yards per game and only 291 total. They are fully capable of shutting teams down. But, 18 points is a pretty low total to reach for Arkansas. I’ll take Arkansas OVER 17.5 total points.

Alabama: 40.5 Total Team Points Alabama’s offense is as potent as always. They are scoring 45 points and 485 total yards per game. In only 3 games, have they failed to score 38 points. The Arkansas defense is better than average, but their are games where they have struggled. They are going to have to be at their best this week. I would take Alabama OVER 40.5 team points.

OVER/UNDER: 57.5 Total Combined Team Points I took the over on both teams’ total points. I’m thinking the score will be 42-21 or something in that range. I’ll take the OVER 57.5 total combined team points.

POINT SPREAD: Alabama is a 21-point favorite This game comes down to how well Arkansas plays. Will they stay away from turnovers? Can they have success running the ball and eating up clock? Can they have some big stops on defense? The spread is high and a 21-point win is hard to achieve but the Hogs are going to have to play well to keep from getting thumped.
