NCAAF Papa Dudes College Football Bottom 10 After Week 5 October 3, 2021 David Yeazell-USA TODAY Sports NCAAF Papa Dudes College Football Bottom 10 After Week 5 October 3, 2021 By: Mike Halterman email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article Wow, what a week for the Bottom-10 teams. They won 5, lost 4, and 1 team was idle. Before celebrating too much, keep in mind we had two classic Bottom-10 matchups, so two of the wins were against their fellow competitors. Nevertheless, it was a banner week and there is going to be a lot of movement in the poll. Who will stay and, more importantly, who gets to join this group of losers. Let’s cut the chit-chat and get to it.NO.10: ARIZONA 0-4: The Wildcats thought by being idle last week that would get them out of the poll. No way, but they did move down from 9 to 10. Next Loss: UCLA NO.9: KANSAS 1-4: Welcome back Jayhawks! After an opening week win and a couple of decent efforts you have battled your way back where you belong after losing 59-7 at Iowa State. Next Loss: Texas TechNO.8 SOUTH FLORIDA 1-4: The Bulls debut at No.8 and they totally deserve the ranking. Next Loss: TulsaNO.7 SOUTHERN MISS 1-4: We would like to extend a warm welcome to the Golden Eagles debuting at No.7. Next Loss: UTEPNO.6 UNLV 0-5: The Rebels are inept but at least they are consistent. Next Loss: Utah StateNO.5 FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL 1-4: Making their debut at No.5, the Panthers have slipped through the cracks and have managed to avoid this poll. They are here now and determined to stay. Next Loss: CharlotteNO.4 OHIO 1-4: Yeah, I know they are still celebrating their glorious victory last Saturday. But, it came against another Bottom-10 foe and they have to win another one to get out. They do move down two spots. Next Loss: Central MichiganNO.3 UCONN 0-6: The Huskies gave their fan base a heart attack after flirting with a victory against equally inept, Vanderbilt. That is two weeks in a row where they had a chance to win. Their tenacity in losing is impressive. The matchup of the season is coming up this week. Next Loss: UMASSNO.2 AKRON 1-4: The Zips still have hopes to get to No.1 after their convincing 34-17 loss to to No.4 Ohio. Next Loss: at Bowling GreenNO.1 UMASS 0-5: The Minutemen stay on top for the 2nd week in a row. Coming up this week is the highly anticipated battle between No.3 UCONN and them. The two teams have made an agreement that if the game ends in a tie there will be no overtime to determine the winner, and they both want to be voted Co-Number 1. Next Loss: UCONNDropped out: Rice, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Georgia SouthernBusting Down the Fence to Get In: Texas State, California, Louisiana Monroe, Old Dominion, Troy, New Mexico
