The final pool of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager is set to make its 3-day run Thursday-Saturday where Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable’s Forte was tabbed as the solid 5-2 favorite in the field of 39 individual horses plus a 40th option for “All Other 3-Year-Olds” not listed.
Unlike the first 5 future wager pools, Pool 6 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager will close Saturday at 6 p.m. EDT, which is 40 minutes before the Florida Derby (G1) and 1 hour and 50 minutes prior to the Arkansas Derby (G1).
Forte, the 4-5 odds-on favorite in the Florida Derby, will have his final test Saturday before the Kentucky Derby on May 6. The son of Violence took heavy action in all 5 previous pools of the Future Wager, and he added to his favoritism in his last start when he won the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park.
