We have a non-conference National Football League contest to consider for Sunday afternoon when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers meet the Denver Broncos. Tampa Bay evened its record to 1-1 with a 31-17 home win over the Carolina Panthers and Denver is 0-2 after a 26-21 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Can the Broncos finally win its first game of the season?
Tampa Bay Beats CarolinaTampa Bay is 1-1 on the season thanks to a solid, 31-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Tom Brady threw for 217 yards and running back Leonard Fournette gashed the Panthers for 103 yards and a pair of scores to lead the Bucs.

Brady is the starting quarterback and has thrown for 456 yards on 46-71 passing with three touchdown passes and three interceptions. Brady has been sacked three times and has scampered for an additional nine yards and one touchdown.
Wideout Mike Evans leads the team with eight receptions for 106 yards and a pair of scores. Wide receiver Scotty Miller has seven receptions for 84 yards and Chris Godwin missed last week with an injury and should be good to go on Sunday.
Fournette is the Bucs leading rusher and has scampered for 108 yards on 17 attempts and two touchdowns while Ronald Jones Jr has rushed for 89 yards on 24 attempts and a touchdown.
The defense allows an average of 349 yards of total offense per game; 264.5 passing yards and 84.5 rushing yards is how Tampa Bay opponents score most of their points. The defense has recorded six sacks with two interceptions this season.
Denver 0-2 StartDenver has struggled out of the gate and has lost both of its games thus far this season. They fought hard in their road loss to Pittsburgh and Jeff Driskel replaced injured quarterback Drew Lock and tossed for 256 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interception in the loss.
Driskel is set to start the game and has thrown for 256 yards on 18-34 passing with a pair of touchdown passes and one interception. He also has an additional five rushing yards on a pair of attempts. Blake Bortles has been signed to be Driskel’s backup while Lock is out.
Tight end Noah Fant is one of two receivers with over 100 receiving yards and has nine receptions for 138 yards with a pair of touchdown catches and wideout Jerry Jeudy has eight catches for 118 yards with a scoring strike and is listed as questionable for Sunday.
Running back Melvin Gordon Jr is handling the brunt of the rushing chores and has ran for 148 yards on 34 attempts for a touchdown and Philip Lindsay has 24 rushing yards and his status is listed as questionable for this contest.
Denver allows 393.5 total yards of offense per game with 274 passing yards and 119.5 rushing yards per game. The Broncos allow an average of 21 points and has recorded two sacks and one interception this season.

Tampa Bay opened as a 3.5 point favorite and that line is now six points and I don't mind six points for this contest. Brady looked sharper against Carolina and he's up against a much softer Broncos passing defense that Ben Roethlisberger lit up for 311 passing yards. I look for Fournette to have a big night and the defense should be able to handle Driskel and the offense. Getting Godwin back is going to make Brady's life much easier and I will lay the points and take the Bucs to cover the spread in this contest.
