The Texas A&M Aggies haven't played in a couple of weeks as they have been dealing with COVID-19 cases on their roster. And yet, they keep moving up in the national rankings. At 5-1, they are ranked 6th in the nation. If they play this week, it'll be against SEC rival SEC. This is not the same LSU team as last year, but the Tigers can still be dangerous. Last year LSU destroyed Texas A&M 50-7 but it's a different story this year as the Aggies are 12.5 point favorites. Will they be healthy enough to cover?
LSU defeats LSUThe LSU Tigers have struggled at times this year, but last week was a good week for the Tigers. they beat a pretty good Arkansas team by the score of 27-24. the win improved the Tigers record to 3-3. The Tigers racked up 419 yards to 443 for Arkansas. But the Tigers were very opportunistic. They converted 11 of 22 first down attempts, while Arkansas was 0 for 10. That proved to be the difference as LSU had 24 first downs to just 14 for Arkansas.
Quarterback TJ Finley, who replaced injured Myles Brennan under center, had a good game, going 27 for 42 for 274 yards with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. Running back Tyrion Davis-Price ran wild for 104 yards and a touchdown while Terrace Marshall had 7 catches for 57 yards receiving. Racey McMath and Jeray Jenkins both caught touchdown passes for LSU. McMath got hurt in the game and exited. He is questionable for the Texas A&M game.
Aggies game postponed again due to COVIDTexas A&M has moved up to 6th in the nation and they haven't played a game in three weeks. The last two games were cancelled as the team has been dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak. They remain at 5-1 and are a game behind undefeated Alabama in the SEC West. They had been on a roll leading up to those games, winning four straight including a 48-3 blowout win over South Carolina.
Cornerback Demani Richardson tested positive for COVID-19 and the team went through the necessary protocols. It's not clear of Richardson's status for this game against LSU, but having missed the last two games, there has been a 14 day quarantine period, so it's likely that the Aggies will be ready to go as long as the players stuck to the protocols. It's a big game for the Aggies as it can keep them within shouting distance of division leader Alabama.
