We have an ACC matchup to discuss for Saturday afternoon when the third-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish meets the Pittsburgh Panthers. - Fighting Irish are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
- Fighting Irish are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.
- Panthers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
- Panthers are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game.
- Panthers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog.
Notre Dame opened as 8.5 point favorites and that number is now 10.5 points and that might be too many for this matchup. This is Notre Dames first road game and they didn’t look good at home last week against Louisville and I suspect Pitt has a better defense. Notre Dame has a nice running attack but they are up against a defense allowing 61.5 rushing yards per game and that might be troublesome for the Irish. Pitt should be able to move the ball no matter who their quarterback is and should be able to cover the 10.5 points. I will take the points and go with Pitt to cover in this contest.
