Saturday Graded Stakes Selections

Belmont

– Man O’ War S. (Grade 1), $400,000; 4 Year Olds And Up, 1 3/8 Miles (Turf)

Dudes Pick: #2 Hyper

What to Watch for: Last years winner Imagining runs here, as well as Grade 1 Arlington Million winner Hardest Core who is making his first start of the year.  Not to mention the ultra tough Hyper and the often tough luck Twilight Eclipse who has been beaten narrowly by Main Sequence several time.  This one lives up the Grade 1 status…should be an excellent race.

– Ruffian H. (Grade 2), $250,000; 4 Year Olds And Up, 1 Mile

Dudes Pick: #4 Princess Violet

What to Watch for: Six older filly and mares that are trying to make there way into the top echelon of the division take there shots here.  Princess Violet scored a huge win at Keeneland last time out in the Grade 1 Madison.  She stretches out slightly to a mile this time out which is still a question mark.

– Peter Pan S. (Grade 2), $200,000; 3 Year Olds, 1 1/8 Miles

Dudes Pick: #1 Wolf Man Rocket

What to Watch for: Horse on the rise Wolf Man Rocket takes on a few others that have taken their shots against the big boys.  Madefromlucky has been thrashed by American Pharoah two times in a row, but is a main threat.  Conquest Curlinate nearly pulled off an upset last time out in the Illinois Derby, and is most likely a candidate for the Queen’s Plate later this year in Canada.

– Beaugay S. (Grade 3), $150,000; 4 Year Olds And Up, 1 1/16 Miles (Turf)

Dudes Pick: #6 Testa Rossi

What to Watch for: Plenty of intrigue starting with the ever classing Discreet Marq.  Her resume overpowers the other, but does she have enough left in the tank?  Testa Rossi is always tough for Chad Brown, and there are two horses in this one making their second starts in the United States: J Wonder and Radiator.

Santa Anita

– Vanity S. (Grade 1), $300,000; 3 year Olds And Up, 1 1/8 Miles

Dudes Pick: #3 Beholder

What to Watch for: The champ Beholder tries to win another Grade 1 at the track she loves, but Warren’s Veneda could prove tough on her.  Does Beholder have another big year left in her?  Find out in the Vanity!

– American S. (Grade 3), $100,000; 3 Year Olds And Up, 1 Mile (Turf)

Dudes Pick: #1 Enterprising

What to Watch for: Should be an absolute wide open scramble that any one of them could win.  Watch this one just do see how the it all unfolds, and bet this one because value can be had with several different options.

Woodbine

– Hendrie S. (Grade 3), $150,000; 4 Year Olds And Up, 6 1/2 Furlongs

Dudes Pick: #5 Disco Barbie

What to Watch for: Much like the American Stakes at Santa Anita this one could be fun because it’s evenly matched.  Add to the fact that they are going 6 and 1/2 furlongs and the trips each one of them get could become ultra important.
