Saratoga and Del Mar Late Pick 4 Analysis 7-25-12

Saratoga Pick 4 Ticket

Race 7: 1,2,3,4,6,7,12

Race 8: 1,3,5,6

Race 9: 2,6

Race 10: 1,3,4,6,7

Total Cost: $140

Analysis: I went with a larger ticket than normal, but I just couldn’t cut out any of these horses.  The seventh is wide open, you have no choice but to go deep in that one.  The eighth is a really strong allowance race, with horses that will probably try to use it as a springboard to bigger and better things.  Ruler on Ice is a very beatable favorite in that race, and could knock some people out if he were to go down.  The ninth is an excellent Grade 2 stakes, but I believe it’s going to come down to the two I have picked.  Samitar brings European class, and Stephanie’s Kitten is always solid.  Finally, I feel very confident that one of the five I have listed will win the tenth.  This is going to be a fun Pick 4, and one that could pay a lot when all is said and done.

Del Mar Pick 4 Ticket

Race 5: 2,7

Race 6: 2,3,4,9,12

Race 7: 2,5

Race 8: 1,2,4,7,8,9

Total Cost: $60

Analysis: The fifth race kicks off the pick 4 and involves a horse of John Shirreffs’ that might end up being pretty decent.  She ran a solid second last time out, and should improve off that performance.  I’ve played the two with her because of her consistency.  The sixth is much tougher to narrow down, and will require you to go pretty deep on.  In the Wickerr Stakes, I really like the shipper Suggestive Boy.  Also, Midnight Interlude is interesting as he makes his first start of 2012.  The pick 4 ends with another state bred race, and I’ve went deep in that one as well.
