Racing Dudes Three Stars of the Week

There’s nothing better than seeing our horses win on the international stage, and this week, we were victorious twice at the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting! See if those winners made our Three Stars of the Week, as well as who made the list from a busy weekend at Santa Anita and Thistledown.

1. Lady Aurelia

Anytime you win a race at Royal Ascot, it’s special, but how about two in a row? Lady Aurelia has now dominated two separated stakes races at Royal Ascot in consecutive years, with this year’s win coming in the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes. Lady Aurelia became the first horse from Wesley Ward’s stable to win twice at Royal Ascot, having taken the Queen Mary Stakes at 2016’s meet.

2. Con Te Partiro

Wesley Ward was able to win his second race of the 2017 Royal Ascot meeting with the classy Con Te Partiro in the Listed Sandringham Handicap with jockey Jamie Spencer aboard. Unlike Lady Aurelia, Con Te Partiro was not a favorite to win the race, so this was a bit of a shock to even the American fans. The win gave Wesley Ward his ninth Royal Ascot win.

3. Collected

It’s Bob Baffert’s world and we are most definitely just living in it. Baffert already boasts an incredible stable of older males, and Collected showed on Saturday in the Grade 3 Precisionist Stakes that he will be formidable this year as well. He romped over his rivals by double-digit lengths while earning a Beyer speed figure of 111. A switch back to the turf course could be next for him.
