The Met Mile is always a great betting race, and this year’s edition is no exception.

The Belmont Stakes, Race 11.  Selections and strategies presented by New York Hot List

Bankroll: $50

A horse going for the Triple Crown is routinely over bet – as will be the case with American Pharoah. But since 2000, the Belmont Stakes remains a highly unpredictable affair. The average price on the last 15 Belmont winners has been 17-1, which means making money is possible despite the presence of a heavy favorite. That said, the belief in this corner is that American Pharoah has a much better chance of winning than any horse going for the Triple Crown since Spectacular Bid in 1979. It’s difficult to imagine him finishing out of the top two, let alone the top three.
